Hi Everyone! It's been a long absence, and it looked something like this:
As a class, we spent a week in a suburb of Ulm, home to an ancient Kloster and a beautiful lake! The Kloster is an Evangelical Internat (boarding school) that prepares students for many fields of study, including theology. We had a nice time getting to know the students, and even spent an evening at their bar. Yes, high school students put on an open bar with school funds. We're not in Kansas anymore. This week-long vacation included a trip to the city of Ulm where we climbed the 768 steps of the tallest church in the world. My legs still hurt.
For the weekend, I went back to Dresden! From there, I visited Prague with some friends. It was wonderful -so beautiful, perfect weather, and delicious food. Plus I kept some change as a souvenir -they are not on the Euro, and their extremely inflated currency doesn't have any cents. 15 euros is about 300 Koruna. Altogether, it was a pretty accessible city, and very cheap. We went out for dinner the first night and got a full meal (large entree, drinks, and dessert) for less than 10 euros a person. We only had one full day, so we walked through the most famous parts of Prague. It was perfect. Really.
